Sean Carpenter was immersed in the music industry from the day he was born. His family has a strong musical background at all levels of the industry and he uses this exposure as the base of his experience. His formal education came from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Los Angeles where his degree in Radio and Television Production gave him a well-rounded perspective on the fundamentals of bringing projects to fruition.
After completing his education, Sean joined Favored Nations Entertainment, the record label of legendary Multi-Grammy Award winning guitarist Steve Vai. Sean worked in record label operations and marketing for the company, including the digital subsidiary and artist services wing, Digital Nations. Carpenter helped facilitate more than 80 global releases for artists like Tommy Emmanuel, Steve Vai, Andy Timmons, The Yardbirds, Beverly McClellan (NBC’s The Voice), and the David Lynch Foundation’s non-profit label Transcendental Music.
In April of 2013, Sean left Favored Nations to join the startup Virtue Music Group & Pinball Marketing. The venture was a boutique management and marketing company founded by industry veterans Jonathan Coffino (Columbia Records, MCA Records) and Erik Keegan (studio producer and business man). Sean was responsible for coordinating a small team of Jr. Managers in performing research and cultivating comprehensive career plans, in addition to acting as an artist manager and consultant with-up-and-coming bands around the world.
Sean moved to Nashville in June of 2015 to begin working with Steve Schweidel at Clearview Artist Management. At the company, Sean worked with a variety of talent across genres like Country, Americana, Bluegrass, and Southern Rock, including several ACM and Grammy nominated and award winning artists. He gained skills in touring and artist development, learning how to work in a dynamic and effective way with artists in different career situations. He worked alongside acts performing at major festivals in addition to guiding developing artists through the essential steps of opening for larger acts, college touring, private concerts, and intimate solo gigs.
Now ready to strike out independently, Carpenter created a new artist management company called Mulholland Management. He has his sights set on working with compelling creators that are looking to bring their unique vision to the world. Sean believes in honesty, transparency and fairness as critical foundations to management and uses this philosophy with all clients. Mulholland Management’s goal is to develop artists into global brands and improve their business in all facets while retaining their artistic integrity and personal satisfaction.
